Trenton Barnhart's Priorities
Faith, Family, & Freedom
Trenton is a lifelong conservative whose faith and values guide how he lives and serves. He believes faith belongs in public life, that families are the foundation of a strong society, and that freedom must be defended each generation.
Upholding the Sanctity of Life
Unapologetically pro-life, Trenton believes every life has value and that protecting our nation’s most vulnerable is a moral responsibility. In the Legislature, he has consistently stood for a culture of life and will continue to do so without hesitation.

Defending the Second Amendment
To Trenton, the Second Amendment is not a suggestion—it’s a constitutional right. He believes law-abiding citizens should never be punished for exercising their rights or defending their families. In the Legislature, he’s stood against federal overreach and will always fight to protect gun owners and the freedoms guaranteed by the Constitution.
Backing Our Heroes
Trenton proudly backs the men and women who keep our communities safe. He supports law enforcement, firefighters, and EMS and believes they deserve respect, resources, and leadership who have their backs. Public safety starts with standing firmly behind those who answer the call.
Lowering Costs for Families
Trenton has seen his generation lose grip of the cornerstone of the American Dream—owning their own homes. He believes this is a critical issue and has supported tax relief and commonsense policies to help lower costs and keep more money in the pockets of working Mountaineers. His focus is simple: lower costs, less burden on families, and policies that make life easier, not harder, to live out the American Dream.
Creating Jobs & Spurring Growth
Trenton is pro-jobs because he believes in the real economy. As a community banker and commercial lender, he works directly with small businesses and employers who create jobs and drive local growth. He believes West Virginia should be a place where businesses want to invest and families don’t have to leave home to find opportunity.
West Virginia Energy
West Virginia powers America, and Trenton will never apologize for it. He strongly supports coal, natural gas, and reliable energy that keeps lights on, costs down, and people working. Protecting energy jobs means protecting the families and communities that depend on them.
Roads, Infrastructure & Connectivity
Trenton thinks the government works best when it focuses on the basics: better roads, safer bridges, reliable cell service, real broadband, and dependable water systems. Infrastructure dollars should go where they matter and will make the largest impact, not to political pet projects.
Transparent, Accountable Government
Trenton began his career auditing government spending and he believes accountability should never stop. Taxpayers deserve transparency, honesty, and leaders who treat every dollar with respect.
A Senator Who Shows Up
Trenton believes representation is personal. He listens, he answers his phone, and he works directly with local leaders to solve problems. He doesn’t disappear after Election Day, and he never will.
